Both piece of this set feature 8-point clear button hobstars framed by two clear miters. These are chained together and separated by fan cutting. The lip of the pitcher is fluted and notched, the handle is notched and the bases are finished with a rayed star.

The blanks of this set are exceptionally clear and highlight the clear glass left by the cutter. The set is in perfect condition and measures approximately .

This vase is cut in one of Hoare’s most desirable designs – the Comet pattern. Comet patterns have always been popular in ABP glass and standout because of their asymmetrical, swirling designs. The vase is signed very faintly on the base with the Hoare trademark. The exact piece is shown in the new J. Hoare Scrapbook on page and is featured in Rarities in American Cut Glass on page 273.

Swirling, notched cutting bend every which way across this vase giving the pattern much movement. Each band of notching is topped with fan cutting and gives the impression of the tail of a comet. The large hobstars seem to lead the tails every-which-way in this incredible display. The swirling motif continues to the very top of the pitcher. At the neck a new motif begins, which is alternating bands of strawberry-diamond cutting and the notching that makes up a great deal of the pattern. The base is covered with a rayed star.

This vase is in perfect condition with no chips, stains or damage. The vase does have a very slight rock to it, but only when tapped in one direction (no significant). It is quite imposing in size and measures 13 1/2 high and 6 3/4″ tall. Large pieces in rare patterns are extremely difficult to find, making this vase one of the most coveted available.

This special piece was designed by William C. Anderson and likely cut by American Cut Glass Company. The blank of the whiskey jug was made by Libbey.

The an pattern is an incredible combination of motifs William C. Anderson was known to use. The main vesica consists of three clear-button hobstars connected with fields of crosshatching. That vesica is surrounded on either side by notched cutting. Feathered cutting envelopes each of these vesicas and a hobstar sits perched atop and below the feathering. The base of the decanter has a rayed star. The original stopper is finished with crosshatching and topped with a clear-button hobstar. The handle is triple notched while the spout is finished in the traditional lapidary manner.

The decanter is in perfect condition and measures 8 5/8″ tall and 4 3/4″ wide. The Anne design displays particularly well on a vertical piece like this and  this blank has always been one of the most popular of the Brilliant Period.

This extremely rare and desirable pattern is one of the most coveted of the brilliant period. The Aberdeen pattern by Jewel Cut Glass Company is design perfection.

Clear flute cutting alternates with brilliant cutting. A chain of clear-button hobstars joined by crosshatched fields separates two bands of clear flute cutting. The clear flute cutting exemplifies the highest quality blank. No detail was spared on the piece – look at the points of the center hobstar-each one is filled with crosshatching! The handle of the nappy is even triple notched.

The nappy is 5″ wide (excluding the handle) and 1 1/2″ tall. It’s in perfect condition with no chips or flakes. The blank of this piece is stellar and the quality of cutting is truly flawless. This is a chance to own a very rare, desirable pattern at a reasonable price.

This gorgeous pitcher is cut in Hawkes’ North Star pattern. It is signed under the handle with the Hawkes trefoil. A pitcher, identical to this one, sold at Woody Auction on August 28, 2010 for $1900. I’m offering this piece for significantly less than the price realized at auction.

The North Star pattern is quite showy – the main motif being what is a normal hobstar perimeter engulfing an undulating rayed star. The contrast of the heavy cutting with the delicate interior cutting is an impressive achievement in design. The rest of the pattern is made up of a flashed star made of fan and deeper miters. Pattern continuity is impeccable with the main motif continued across the base! The handle is fully cut in the highest quality that Hawkes saved for their top-tier handled pieces.

The pitcher is in excellent condition with no damage and measures 8 7/8″ tall and 5 1/8″ wide. The blank is exceptional and of the highest quality. This price is a steal for such a desirable piece from the Brilliant Period.

This bowl embodies what many of us look for in Brilliant Cut Glass. Sharp, dazzling cutting covers the entire piece and shoots prism in every direction. I seem to remember seeing this piece identified as Hoare once, but have not been able to find that reference.

The identifying portion of this pattern consists of four vesicas of hobnail surrounding a hobstar. This motif is similar to Blackmer’s Nordica pattern. There is another vesica which features three stacked hobstars surrounding on every crosscut with crosshatching and fans. The most impressive part of this bowl however, is the cutting at the center. Four small hobstars are in cross formation, in the center of them lies a tiny, perfectly cut hobstar. What’s so amazing about this one hobstar is that it sits perched atop a very deep relief by itself and is smaller than a fingertip. It’s difficult to describe, but extremely impressive. It is shown in the last photo.

The bowl is on a perfect blank and measures 8″ wide and 2″ tall. This showy pattern really stands out amongst the crowd and is nothing short of fiery.

Want something to impress visiting company? This vase is it. Its sheer size and quality of cutting will impress anyone – glass collector or not. I believe this piece to be made by the Kelly & Steinman company. It is a slight variation of their Roman pattern in which they managed to cram sunburst into the cutting. Additionally K&S seemed to produce quite a few of these very unusual, large vases.

The pattern of this vase features thick bands of cane crisscrossing one another throughout the entire pattern. Diamond-shaped fans connect all of these bands which surround large hobstars  or sunburst cutting framed by crosshatching. The rim of the vase is made up of a 3-pronged form made up of the cane with fan in between each spur. The base of this piece is covered with a deep 24-point hobstar.

I can’t street how large and impressive this vase is. It measures 11 3/4″ tall and a whopping 8 1/8″ wide! The flare of the rim and girdle like-form is one I’ve never seen. It’s amazing in every way imaginable.

This decanter, cut in Bergen’s Florida pattern, is simply one of the most unusual forms in Brilliant Cut Glass. It is genie bottle in shape with a cut-in-pattern stopper of the exact same shape – truly a touch of class. This exact piece is pictured clearly in the ACGA’s Bergen catalog reprint.

While this pattern is understated, it works perfectly with the unusual shape of the decanter. Notched prism is spread throughout and alternates with flutes and notched cutting. Around the perimeter of the decanter, there are clear cut punties which work as an optical lens when looking through the decanter. The base features a rayed star. The stopper features the exact same punty, notched prism and flutes and notching at the top. It is hollow with an air bubble contained within.

The decanter is in perfect condition and measures 9 3/8″ tall and 6 1/2″ wide. I had two of these but have sold the other one.

This magnificent bowl is cut in Sinclaire’s Westminster pattern. It is signed very clearly in the center of the piece.

The great thing about the Westminster pattern is that it very much highlights the quality of the blanks Sinclaire was using. From the central hobstar portion of the pattern sprout 8 bands of notched prism. In between each of these lies a large area of fluted, clear glass. You can see clean through the entire piece of glass as if it wasn’t in front of your own eye when holding this piece. The edge of the bowl has alternating hobstars and fan cutting along with clear fields.

As mentioned prior, the quality of glass on this bowl is second to none. It is in perfect condition and measures 9″ wide and 2 1/2″ tall.

Victor is one of Dorflinger’s nicest patterns. Deep, vibrant cutting is wood-wheel polished to perfection.

The beautiful Victor pattern consists of two chains of hobstars both around the top and bottom of the pattern. The top chain has clear buttons while the bottom chain is completely filled in with fans. In between the two chains is notched prism cutting with varying widths of clear glass in between each one. This creates the beautiful light catching mechanism that almost appears like icicles. The base of this piece is finished with a gorgeous 16-point hobstar and its points actually run into the recesses of the bottom hobstar chain. points . Every inch of the cutting was smoothed over to radiant like brilliance with a wood-wheel. It’s just incredible Dorflinger work.

The roseglobe is on the clearest of blanks and measures 6 1/4″ wide and 5 3/4″ tall. It’s in stunningly perfect condition with no chips or flakes even. Again, this jewel with sparkle with the utmost radiance in your display because of the wonderful polish and quality of glass that Dorflinger was able to produce.

This beautiful 7″ plate is cut by Hawkes in their Holland pattern. It’s signed directly in the center with the Hawkes trefoil logo. 7″ plates are highly collectible because of their perfect display of the pattern, yet small use of cabinet space.

The Holland pattern has a gorgeous 10-point hobstar center. The exterior of the pattern looks like shooting stars. Two small deeply cut hobstars are stacked atop on another and surrounded on either side by shooting fans. The rest of hte pattern is made up of a large 8-point hobstar balancing above a field of crosshatching.

The blank and polish/finish of this plate is superb and won’t disappoint. It’s in perfect condition and measures 7 1/8″ wide and 7/8″ tall. This is a great opportunity to add to your 7″ plate collection for a minimal price.

This is a blank shape that I’ve never seen – the bowl rises quite tall and then rolls out ever so slightly. The bowl was made by L. Straus in their American Beauty and beauty it certainly is.

The bowl, which has a flat bottom, has 7 hobstars with fanned centers arranged on the base. The perimeter of the bowl is made up of flat, elaborate hobstars alternating with fields of radiant fans. The pattern is adapted particularly well to this unusual shape. The upper flair portion of the bowl has flute cutting (nearly punties) which are separated by a small hatch cutting.

This piece is in perfect condition with the exception of some very tiny fleabites. It measures9 3/8″ wide and 4 1/4″ tall. The blank is exceptional and the cutting is entirely wood-wheel polished to that silky brilliance that Straus is so well known for.
