This great humidor was cut by the masters at C. Dorflinger. It was made in their Chester design and is wood-wheel polished.

The clarity on this blank is noticeably better than most and deserves to be mentioned first.  A chain of flat hobstars and downward fans goes around the upper portion of the jar. Each of these comes to a point and is met by tiny, fine crosshatching The fine crosshatching sits atop wide notching and frames the upper portion of a deep, wide miter that extends all the way to the base. The base is covered in a 24-point hobstar base and the lid is completely cut in pattern.

The humidor is in perfect condition with no issues and is one of the largest sizes I’ve seen – measuring 10″ tall and 6″ wide. Again, the blank and cutting are exceptional and a step above most other humidors.

This tazza vase has everything and then some. The shape alone is incredible with a ruffled, pie-crust rim and a lapidary, air-trapped knob at the stem. Add to that a thick, scalloped hobstar base and you have it all.
The design features four panels with hobstar cutting, hobnail and crosshatching. Dividing those panel are sections of compressed honeycomb/triple-notching which create and incredible optical effect and refraction of prismatic light. The upper portion features triangular panels of hobnail and fans. The neck of the piece has an incredible air-trap lapidary knob and the base features a scalloped 32-point hobstar base.
The condition of the Tazza is perfect and it measures a healthy 8 1/2″ tall and 8 1/2″ wide. This is a particularly unique addition to any collection.

This design is shown in the trade-advertisements for Ohio Cut Glass. It features a wide variety of detailed motifs throughout the bowl – only a very experience cutter must have been able to achieve this execution. The pattern is similar to Libbey’s Diana, but features a ton more detail.
A small, deep hobstar adorns the middle and is surrounded on all sides by notched prism in a five-sided formation. Sitting above that is a band of feathering leading into a diamond of hobnail cutting. Then another deep hobstar sits central to a vesica filled with hobnail cut all the way into the points of the hobstar. The edge of the bowl is covered with the tightest, tiny harvard cutting. The amount of skill and detail is really over the top.
The bowl is in excellent condition and measures 8″ wide and 2″ tall.

This 7″ plate was cut in the rare Grecian design by TG Hawkes. 7″ plates are extremely popular and collectible, because they display the pattern perfectly without taking too much space.

The Grecian pattern displays wonderfully on this plate. A large 8-point hobstar formation fills the center of the bowl.  Spurring from each of the points of that formation are 8 large clear-tusk vesicas. Supposedly this was one of, if not the most difficult motifs to cut as it has to be done by the naked eye, rather than tracing a line. These tusks extend all the way into the rim treatment to a nice, sharp point. The rest of the pattern is entirely Russian cutting and the contrast between the clear tusks and the brilliant cutting is particularly striking. Wood-wheel polish finishes out the plate for that perfect, radiant silkiness.

The plate is in perfect condition and measures 7″ wide and 1″ tall and is in perfect condition.

This blank was cut almost exclusively by Libbey in some of their most desirable patterns. This one is cut in their Imperial design and marked with the Libbey trademark.

This complex design wraps it’s way all around the folds of this blank and displays beautifully. Triple miter surrounded hobstars alternate with fields of clear-hobbed hexad all around the sides of the piece. Dividing them is a band of cane converging and diamond shaped fields of fan. A stylized 8-pointed hobstar formation covers the center of the tray.

The tray is very thick and heavy and measures 11 1/2″ long, 5 1/2″ wide and just over 2 1/2″ tall. It’s in perfect condition.
