Meticulous Ohio Cut Glass Low Bowl SOLD |
This design is shown in the trade-advertisements for Ohio Cut Glass. It features a wide variety of detailed motifs throughout the bowl – only a very experience cutter must have been able to achieve this execution. The pattern is similar to Libbey’s Diana, but features a ton more detail.
A small, deep hobstar adorns the middle and is surrounded on all sides by notched prism in a five-sided formation. Sitting above that is a band of feathering leading into a diamond of hobnail cutting. Then another deep hobstar sits central to a vesica filled with hobnail cut all the way into the points of the hobstar. The edge of the bowl is covered with the tightest, tiny harvard cutting. The amount of skill and detail is really over the top.
The bowl is in excellent condition and measures 8″ wide and 2″ tall.
