Top Quality, Elegant and Unusual Punch Bowl – SOLD

This is a stunning punch bowl cut on a very unusual blank in an unknown pattern. Every detail of this piece screams quality from the detailed cutting around the neck, to the fully cut in pattern base – singular in every regard.

Four large panels house large, 24-point hobstars. These have rainbow shaped bands of cutting above them which intersect at a hobstar and lead to more notching. The notching frames a diamond-shaped field of hobnail. The outer edge of the bowl features an array of notching and then an extremely unusual bit of hobnail divided by scalloped clear curves – I’ve never seen anything quite like it. The base is a work of art in and of itself. The full pattern is displayed on the body and an extremely tight band of crosshatched-cane extends around the collar. The base of the punch bowl has a star-like formation featuring crosshatching, hobnail, and fan surrounded a large clear center which shows the hollow portion of the piece.

The punch bowl is on a perfectly clear blank and measures 14 1/4″ tall and 13″ wide at the widest point. It’s in perfect condition.
