Incredible Cake Plate attribute to Hawkes SOLD

Everything about this piece screams Hawkes to me – the u-notch, the design like their Constellation pattern and the heavy, scalloped foot. I have never seen this exact shape before in cut glass.

Eight, deep 20-point hobstars cover the exterior edge of the piece and run right up to the edges. The neck is fluted seamlessly from top to bottom transitioning into a wide base with a 28-point scalloped hobstar. The cutting on this piece is very precise and the blank exceptional.

The cake plate is very heavy and measures . 10″ wide and 5 1/4″ tall.
