Rare Libbey Prism Whisky Jug – SOLD |
This whisky was cut by Libbey in their rare and always well-done Prism pattern. Prism was one of the most expensive designs in the catalog and uses, tight fine cutting to achieve an intriguing, impressive display. Both pieces are signed with the saber.
From the base of the decanter, there are four layers of clear hobnail cane. This hobnail blends seamlessly into extremely fine crosshatching. This crosshatching sandwiches the namesake prism cutting of this pattern – this is the same type of cutting featured in Libbey’s Ellsmere pattern with great relieve to clear channels. The neck of the decanter is fluted and notched all the way up to the lapidary spout. Impressively, the handle is cut-in-pattern and the stopper is crosshatched with a clear button hobstar on top.
The decanter is in perfect condition and would make a fine addition to any collection.
