Rare Hawkes Grecian and Gorham Chain Decanter – SOLD

This is one of the nicest chain decanters I’ve ever seen. Done in Hawkes’ early Grecian design – the pattern extends across the entire base where most of these decanters have a simpler rayed star.

The Grecian design wraps around the body of this decanter. Russian bands extend up from the base and meet half a rayed star. Separating each of these bands is a clear, convex tusk cutting. The base is complete with a full hobtsar in a 6-point crosshatched formation. The neck of the decanter is fluted and notched and meets an ornate Gorham spring-loaded flip top. The chain is even decorated in a rope-like swirl!

The decanter is in perfect condition and free of residue. It measures 9 1/4″ tall and 5″ wide and is a perfectly clear blank.
