Sparkling Brilliant Cluster Pitcher SOLD |
I have had this blank before cut in Dorflinger’s No. 99 pattern among others. I’m guessing this is a blank by them but cut by another manufacturer. I also bought this from an estate with another piece of Dorflinger. The pitcher cinches in towards the center.
This piece has so much brilliant cutting it shimmers all over. The main motif are two clusters of hobstars. These clusters are divided by hobnail and a diamond of cane cutting. This main section of the pitcher is divided on each side by a chain of vertical, richly cut hobstars. These are framed by notching and crosshatching triangles. The handle of the pitcher is finished with a compressed, triple-notched handle. The base features a 32-point hobstar.
The pitcher is in very good condition. The blank is stunningly clear and the cutting extremely vibrant. It measures 8 7/8″ tall and 6″ wide.
