Ever-desirable Hawkes Queens Pitcher – SOLD |
If you’re looking at this piece, chances are there’s not much I can tell you about it. Queens is one of Hawkes’ most popular patterns and for good reason – there is an incredible optic effect using the honeycomb cutting and each piece is on a remarkably clear blank. It is signed
A chain of hobstars drapes down the pitcher – each one richly and precisely cut. These chains alternate with honeycomb/St. Louis diamond cutting which provide an opitical illusion of many views through the piece. The handle of the pitcher is quintuple notched and the base is finished with a great 24-point hobstar base.
