These 7″ plates are cut in Jewel’s rare and extremely desirable Aberdeen pattern. The Jewel pattern features wonderful clear cutting which highlights their ability to source the clearest of glass. The concave clear flute cutting also provides a dazzling optical effect.
Clear flute cutting alternates with brilliant cutting. A chain of clear-button hobstars joined by crosshatched fields separates two bands of clear flute cutting. No detail was spared on the piece – look at the points of the center hobstar-each one is filled with crosshatching! The handle of the nappy is even triple notched.
The plates are in excellent condition and measure 6 3/4″” wide and 1″ tall. These plates have likely had professional restoration to the rim and were reduced in size by 1/4″ as the originals were 7″ wide. The restoration work was extremely well done and left no noticeable marks or damage .The blank and polishing are of the finest quality. Very few of these plates exist and nappies are far more common in this pattern. I have 2 plates and they are $600 each.
