Spectacular Weaving Wedding Ring Like Bowl – SOLD

This bowl was likely cut by J. Hoare – a company that made many weaving patterns like this including the most desirable – Wedding Ring/Crystal City. This bowl, like Wedding Ring, features different motifs on each ring and clear tusk cutting. It is an older piece, unsigned, and features silky wood-wheel polishing.

The variety of motifs mixed in this piece is flabbergasting. Complex and intricate don’t begin to describe it. The most used motif is Russian cutting. That weavs with a band of diamond fields of crosshatching. The edge of the bowl is finished with four fans. The center of the bowl is not to be ignored and features four petals of clear-tusk cutting (took a great amount of skill to achieve) surrounded by notching.

The beautiful piece measures 8 7/8″ wide and 4 3/8″ tall. It’s in perfect condition with hardly a scratch on it. The blank is radiant and the wood wheel polish brings out the leaded crystal’s natural fire.
