This beautiful punch set was cut by Maple City in their super sharp, super precise Temple pattern. This isn’t a well-known pattern of the Brilliant Period, but it should be the quality is much better than many 1-1 designs. The punch bowl is signed as are the cups. It is extraordinarily unusual to find a matching ladle with a set, but this one is a stunning match.
Hobstars spread across the piece in a hexagonal field. They are seperated with crosshatching, hobnails and tiny hobstars. The cutting is shockingly tight and sharp and the miters very deep. The rim of the punch bowl features coupled teeth – a maple city technique seen on all pieces of Temple. The cups and ladle are a perfect match and cut precisely as well.
The punch set is in excellent condition – it has one flat nick to a tooth on the rim and one of the cups has a small, flat nick on the side of the rim. The ladle is marked Pairpoint. The punch bowl measures 14″ wide and 13 1/2″ tall. The cups are 2 3/4″ wide and the ladle is 15″ long.
