I don’t even know where to start with this tray – it’s cut in American Cut Glass Company’s Anne pattern. The pattern is cut so incredibly well on this piece and the blank is absolutely awe-inspiring!

The center of the Anne pattern features a square that frames an eight-point star with four clear button hobstars in between each point. Four triangles of crosshatching lead into four incredibly large vesicas. On the longer ends of the tray, the vesica features three distinct hobstars. The top one is a clear-button hobstar, the midd is a huge 3-tiered wedding cake hobstar, and the lower one is a wedding cake hobstar with a clear button center. All of these hobstars are separated by crosshatching. The vesica is framed with notching and feathered cutting. The shorter vesicas feature an additional three hobstars – two clear button hobstars and one clear buttoned wedding cake hobstars. Each of the vesicas has a large, deeply cut hobstar in between them. One of the most impressive details on this tray is the fact that on the four shoulders of the tray, they included diamond-point hexad cutting. This distinct Anderson-style cutting is one of the most intricate and difficult motifs of the Brilliant Period.

The tray is in perfect condition and as stated before on a gorgeous, clear and thick blank! It measures 17 3/4″ long, 10 1/4″ wide and 2 3/4″ tall. This is one of the best ice cream platters I’ve ever had the chance to offer and the cutting, quality and condition make it in a league of its own – another like this will not come along for a long while.

The amount of work that went into this compote is astounding. It features a fully cut base, a lapidary knobbed neck, and an incredible pattern. I believe the pattern is Blackmer’s Nordica – one of their top-of-the-line patterns.

The main portion of the pattern is made up of six large vesicas. These vesicas are made up of an unusual curved hobnail border which is connected on either side by a flat hobstar. The hobnail surrounds a deeply cut oval hobstar. In between each vesica is a smaller hobstar surrounded by fans and a field of crosshatching. The neck contains a beautiful lapidary knob which leads into an incredible fully cut base. The base features a central hobstar that forms the center of a 6-point star formation with cane points. The entire edge is finished with crosshatching! You do not find bases like this on many pieces at all!

The compote is in very good condition but it does have some minor fleabites along the rim. It measures 6 1/2″ wide and 5″ tall This is easily the best compote of this size and one I’ve only seen a handful of times.

Looking at this vase, their is nothing you already don’t know – it’s cut in Sinclaire’s rare and always coveted Snowflake & Holly pattern. This pattern combines Sinclaire’s best brilliant (the snowflake) cutting along with beautiful engraving (the holly). It is signed with the Sinclaire logo – an S inside a wreath.

The border of perpetual holly surrounds the top portion of this vase. The detail is wonderful with realistic engraved chains of holly. The snowflake cutting is made up of tiny, rich hobstars with clear panels floating in between them with a little unpolished, rayed star in the center. The overall effect is nothing short of stunning! There is fan cutting towards the base which features a 20-point hobstar.

The blank of the vase is nothing short of what you’d want from Sinclaire and highlights the pattern most excellently. With the exception of some scratches at the base, the vase is in perfect condition and measures 10 1/4″ high 4 1/2″ wide.

Hawkes; Brunswick pattern is one of their most underrated patterns. It combines brilliant cutting with exceptionally clear glass for a wonderful contrast. This plate is signed in the center with the Hawkes trefoil.

The center of this piece features a gorgeous hobstar formation including one large center star surrounded by twelve small, deeply cut hobstars. These hobstars are connected to large, rim hobstars by two bands of parallel line cutting.  In between each dual band of cutting, there is a deeply scalloped portion of the glass which creates a great optical effect in addition to showing off the clarity of the glass.

The plate is in perfect condition and measures 10 1/8″ wide and 1 3/8″ tall. The blank is of the highest quality – what many people refer to as a Steuben blank – and the same kind used on the Queens pattern.

This incredible decanter was cut in Libbey’s Imperial pattern. Even if the piece had a traditional, faceted stopper, it’d be quite impressive but Libbey went the extra mile and finished the piece with an entire pattern-cut stopper!

Triangles of crosshatching start the pattern at the base. They are framed with beautiful, clear glass. The pattern picks up after this clear border with bands of zig-zagging cane, which are attached with rayed-fan cut figures. In between each of the cane sections is one of two types of cutting. One features a cluster type of pattern with hobnailed and mitered tips. It must have taken a great bit of time to cut this type of complex motif. The other motif features a flat hobstar framed on all sides by what looks like triple-miter trellis. Fans top out the body of the decanter and meet a fluted and notched neck. The center of the neck even has a band of hollow diamond cutting for an extra, impressive touch. The base is finished with a 16-point hobstar.

Decanters with pattern cut stoppers are rare, but ones in patterns this nice are nearly non-existant. The stopper alone is a work of art and coupled with a decanter this nice, the combination becomes a masterpiece. The decanter is in excellent condition with only one small flake to the underside of the lip. It measures 12 5/8″ tall and 5″ wide.

This bowl is cut in the very rare and aptly named Superb pattern by Bergen. The Superb design is so tastefully done – a perfect mix of busy cutting and sublime framework.

The first thing that draws your eyes to the superb pattern are medallions of Russian cutting, of which there are seven. These are framed by deep, circular miters and topped with crosshatching and a stylized., triple-miter 8-pointed star. The Russian medallions also nestle in cane cutting. Flat hobstars seep in between each of the medallions and reemerge as a field of crosshatching that makes up the points of a seven point star formation, surrounding another hobstar. The design is extremely tasteful and well done.

The bowl is on a thick blank and very clear. It’s in excellent condition and measures a large 9 1/4″ wide and 4″ tall.

This gorgeous set was made by the American Cut Glass Company in their Fredricka pattern and designed by William C. Anderson. The quality of this set is of the highest order and the design displays beautifully on the form.

The center of the tray contains a huge 24 split-point hobstar. The Fredericka pattern consists of 5-sided hobstars which are topped with strawberry-diamond cutting. These alternate with a 5-pointed star with a clear center. This 5-point star is topped with an enormous bursting fan The extension of the pattern adapts to this tray’s blank perfectly. The six accompanying plates hold the Fredricka pattern in a much more condensed form.

All of the pieces are on the best quality blanks. The tray is incredibly clear and heavy and measures 17 1/2″ long, 10 1/4″ wide and 2 3/4″ tall. The tray is in perfect condition. Interestingly, the plates for this set are quite small, measuring 5 1/4″ wide and 3/4″ tall. Two of the plates have one small chip each. Full sets, with trays this nice, are incredibly difficult to come by and this set is priced at a bargain price!

This is a particularly unusual decanter – it features two air bubbles in the neck which are blown right on top of each other. Each of the bulges is faceted entirely and gives it a look like two pieces of glass were applied together! The body of the decanter is bell-shaped and quite elegant. This piece is signed Libbey and is cut in their Colonna pattern.

The Colonna pattern is made up of what appear to be alternating 5-pointed stars. Each alternating section is made up of either a deeply cut hobstar or a flat hobstar. The formation is made up of checked cutting and full fans. The neck is fluted and notched up until the two faceted air bubbles. The base is finished with a rayed star.

The decanter is in great condition – the stopper appears to have had a chip polished out at one point in time, but is a great fit to the decanter. There is also a bruise to one of the facets on the stopper. The piece measures 12 5/8″ tall and 4 1/2″ wide.

This is one of the best 7″ plates I’ve ever seen. Cut in Hawkes’ Oriental pattern, it’s a meticulous example of what Hawkes was able to achieve in both design and execution. It is signed in the center with the Hawkes trefoil.

The pattern has three fields which feature an extremely unusual hobstar formation, which features thirteen hobstars each! Each of these areas is surrounded on all sides in zippered cutting which runs into a square-off hobstar. The center of the plate features a beautiful cluster of hobstars. The remaining portion of the pattern consists of chains of hobstars and crosshatching separated by notching and additional crosshatching in the teeth.

The plate is on a beautiful blank and is in absolutely perfect condition. It measures 7″ wide. The pattern of this piece is not only incredible, but rare and displays perfectly on a 7″ plate.

This rendition of Hawkes Aberdeen is one of their rarest patterns. It features the Aberdeen pattern combined with clear tusks. There aren’t many pieces in this version of the pattern and the ones I’ve seen are exceptional. The vase is signed with the Hawkes trefoil on the base.

The top of the vase features four large, diamond-shaped hobstars which are deeply cut. These nestle in a large, split vesica of strawberry-diamond cutting. Dividing the strawberry-diamond cutting is a clear tusk. This was one of the most difficult motifs of the period to cut and really adds an incredibly unique dimension to this wonderful pattern. The base is scalloped and contains a 20 split-point hobstar.

The cutting on this vase is deep, sharp and extremely precise. It is in perfect condition and measures 10″ tall and 4 1/2″ wide.

This plate, was cut by Shotton Cut Glass company. While it doesn’t have a name, it’s one of their best designs and they cut it on high quality pieces. A 16″ version of this exact piece sold at the May 19, 2012 Woody Auction for $8000 – proving that this is quite the coveted design. The pattern is extremely brilliant and all of the cutting sends tons of sparkling prisms in the viewer’s direction.

The center of the plate has several hobstars which are engulfed in vesicas of cane. The cane vesicas run all the way to the edge of the plate where they run into a great motif-a fan of additional cane and russian cutting addorns the edge of the piece. This is a motif I’ve only ever seen on high quality patterns. There are also four large hobstars at the edge of the plate which come to points on one upper side. It’s a gorgeous design and one that displays particularly well on a plate, rather than a standup piece.

This plate is in perfect condition and measures 11 1/2″ wide and 1 3/4″ high. The blank is very clear and vibrant and shows off the dazzling pattern in all of its glory.

Pitkin and Brooks’ Mayflower pattern is quickly becoming one of my favorite patterns. Every piece I find in this pattern is on the best quality blank, with the most meticulous cutting and polishing. While this may seem like hyperbole, it is anything but. It’s consistently one of the highest quality and most beautiful patterns every produced. This pitcher in an incredible piece of glass and weighs nearly ten pounds. The cutting is superb and there are few, if any, higher quality pieces out there.

The sides of the pitcher include two deeply cut hobstars. These hobstars hobstar has an interior hobstar that has 5-miters per points. Look through your own collection and see how often you see a hobstar like that. The hobstar are separated by a large panel of russian cutting running down the length of the pitcher. The russian cutting is surrounded on either side by notched prism. The front of the pitcher is covered head to toe in the most tightly cut, detailed pattern. Both the top and bottom have two diamond shaped fields with 14 tiny hobstars each. These fields are topped with cane cutting and surrounded on all four sides by vesicas of crosshatching. These two diamonds meet in the center where there are bands of cane and two additional small hobstars. The spout is fluted and notched. The handle is made from a giant glob of glass and is triple notched. A giant 24-point hobstar covers the base.

The blank of this piece is superbly clear and measures 12 5/8″ tall and 6 3/8″ wide across the base. The blank is very thick and heavy and the piece is in perfect condition. The new owner of this pitcher will be completely smitten with this piece and it will surely show up any pitcher in its proximity.
