This beautiful flower center has a lot of traits of Pitkin & Brooks work. One thing that’s particularly special about it is that the pattern wraps seamlessly around the bottom – as opposed to having a star – which is a true sign of of exceptional quality.
Large, deep clear circles frame a cluster of hobstars around a 5-miter point central hobstar. This is another sign of the quality as that type of star is only feature on really well done pieces. The circle is framed by notched cutting. The rest of the perimeter is doing with a hexagonal hobstar, fans and crosshatching. The base of the vase has very fine crosshatching around 3 bars of cane which frame a precisely cut flat-hobstar. The neck of the face is fluted and notched leading up to crosshatched diamonds at the rim.
The flower center is in perfect condition and on an extremely fine blank. It measures 8″ wide and 6 1/2″ tal.
